Outreach Volunteers

As part of the preparation for the GC7 Project, outreach volunteers from the vulnerable community participated in a series of intensive training sessions designed to enhance their knowledge and strengthen their capacity to educate their peers on critical health issues, with a particular focus on HIV prevention. The training, which lasted four weeks and was divided into batches, covered a number of important subjects, such as understanding HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis, stigma and discrimination, sexual abuse and harassment, STDs, safety and security, and more.

The volunteers benefitted from expert-led sessions facilitated by distinguished external trainers from the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP), the National Hepatitis Program, and other key health organizations. These sessions provided participants with in-depth knowledge, equipping them with the tools and confidence needed to advocate for HIV prevention and health awareness within their communities.

The volunteers were inspired to work diligently in spreading crucial health messages, empowering them to become catalysts for positive change by educating and supporting their peers in the fight against HIV and related health challenges.
