Recognizing the critical importance of mental health well-being and psychosocial support within the HIV/AIDS cascade, WAPCAS assembled a team of experienced clinical psychologists to offer dedicated support to the vulnerable community. This initiative culminated in a transformative two-day workshop designed to deepen participants' understanding of the psychosocial and mental health challenges commonly faced by vulnerable males and females intheir communities.
The workshop provided valuable insights into the unique health issues affecting these individuals and equipped participants with practical strategies to offer the necessary support. In addition, attendees were given a comprehensive overview of the HIV/AIDS situation in Ghana, along with engaging discussions on key topics such as stigma and discrimination, the prevention of sexual abuse and harassment, and other vital issues impacting their communities.
This workshop empowered participants with the knowledge and skills to provide crucial psychosocial support, helping to address the often-overlooked mental health needs within theHIV/AIDS response and promoting a more holistic approach to community healthand well-being.
